I have found in the Public Archives of Canada a copy of Amelia's "Officers' Declaration Paper" for the Canadian Over-seas Expeditionary force where she signed up as a nurse with the force on January 4th, 1917.

Marriage record shows birthplace as Unionville, Ontario.
