Amherst - born George Hawley Morrison, an engineer with Rio Tinto Mining Company of Canada Ltd., and a graduate of Nova Scotia Technical College in 1925, died in a Buffalo N.Y. hospital Tuesday at the age of 54.
Mr. Morrison received his pre-engineering at Acadia University in Wolfville. he practiced his profession in various Canadian centres before moving to the Toronto suburb of Willowdale four years ago.
He is survived by wife; a brother Eric, Asbestos, Que.; two sisters, Mrs. J. M. MacLeod, Moncton, N.B. and Miss Gene (sic) Morrison, of Halifax.

George Hawley Morrison, 54, professional engineer with Rio Tinto Mining Co. of Canada Ltd., died yesterday at the Buffalo General Hospital where for the past week he had been receiving special treatment. Mr. Morrison lived on Bayview Ave., North York. He was born in Amherst N.S. and was a graduate of Acadia University, Wolfville, and of the Nova Scotia Technical College. He had practised his profession in various Canadian centres before coming to Toronto four years ago and latterly to Rio Tinto. He leaves his wife, a brother Eric of Asbestos, Que., and two sisters, Mrs. J.M. MacLeod of Moncton, N.B. and Jean Morrison of Halifax.
