According to the 1881 census Jane Buie was 15 years old and living with her parents Angus and Sarah. Her ethnic origin was Scottish and she was born in Ontario. Her religion was Presbyterian. Her census place was Billings & Campbell, Algoma, Ontario.
According to transcription of microfilm of the August 23, 1884 issue of the Expositor the following: "McEachern/Buie At the home of the bride's mother, by Pastor W.H. Law, on August 6th, John McEachern to Elizabeth Jane Buie, both of Campbell." Lived later in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on Albert Street and buried in the old section of Greenwood Cenetery.

Elizabeth married Johnathon D. McEachern, son of Allan McEachern and Christena McDougal, on 6 Aug 1884 in Spring Bay, Manitoulin Island, Ontario. (Johnathon D. McEachern was born in 1860 in Staynor, Ontario, died in 1927 and was buried on 21 Feb 1927 in Sault Ste Marie Ont - Greenwood Cemetery.)
